 Carrington School

Carrington School is an 11 to 16, co-educational, maintained Community School situated in the very heart of the Redhill Community and is part of the South East Surrey Schools Education Trust (SESSET). We have just over 1000 students on role.

Why work with us?

We are proud to be a community that combines compassion with ambition. We work tirelessly to raise standards and provide young people with not only a strong academic education but also rich opportunities in sports, the arts and community life. Everything we do is underpinned by our values of Aspire, Innovate and Respect, which share the character of our school and the daily experiences of our students.

Our students study a wide range of subjects both at Key Stage 3 and 4. As well as more traditional subjects, we have some other exciting courses which include Psychology, Animal Care, Hair and Beauty, Economics, E-Sports, Health and Social Care, Hospitality and Catering and Engineering. We also have our unique Football Academy which is delivered in partnership with Dorking Wanderers Football Club.

At Key Stage 3 we aim to broaden horizons with our Excellence Programme. This is a weekly enrichment session where students can select from a menu of exciting experiences such as dissection, Italian, lino-printing, ballet, softball, politics.

In September 2023 we opened our Specialist School Satellite hub to accommodate 40 students with MLD Education Health and Care Plans (ECHPs) working in partnership with Woodfield School and Surrey County Council.

We have a bespoke enrichment programme designed to inspire and challenge our highest achieving students called ‘Supernova’. Through regular sessions, Supernova offers a dynamic mix of academic stretch and future-focused guidance including on applying to Oxbridge universities.

Comments made during our 2023 Ofsted inspection which made us proud are:

“Pupils are proud of their school. They know that the staff work very hard to support them.”

“Relationships between staff and pupils are very strong”

“Teachers ensure that pupils know exactly how to improve their work”
